Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform preventive maintenance, service, repairs, calibration and testing on radiographic equipment used for clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic treatment.

The role requires strong ability to read wiring diagrams and blueprints, use power and hand tools, and comply with safety codes; a HS/GED and AS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering are preferred, along with 3 years of device maintenance experience.

Qualifications

• Education: HS/GED and AS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering; preferred.
• 3 years' experience maintaining medical devices preferred.
• Able to read wiring diagrams and blueprints; uses power/hand tools; follows safety codes.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on radiographic equipment used for clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic treatment.
• Performs service, repairs, calibration and testing as needed.
• Ensures compliance with safety codes and documentation.

Qualifications

Education: HS/GED and Associates in Science degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering from an accredited college or university with training in advanced phases and/or equivalent training is preferred.

Experience: Three years experience in maintaining medical devices is preferred.

Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints. Ability to use assorted power and hand tools. Ability to perform all documentation requirements. Knowledge of safety codes. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
