Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, seeks an experienced Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and repair medical imaging equipment across hospital sites. You will perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations, and electrical safety inspections, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and regulatory requirements.

This role requires strong problem-solving, cross-training support for BMET staff, and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, or military training.
• At least five years experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or related experience.
• Minimum of five years experience in repair of radiology equipment and biomedical experience.
• Specialized knowledge in modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators.
• Certification (CRES) in these modalities preferred.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to serve on-call duty as required.
• Willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification(s).

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations, and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment in compliance with established standards.
• Perform major repairs by replacing defective components and readjust components to manufacturer specifications; certification may be required.
• Assist with diagnostic imaging cross-training of BMET Technicians.
• Confer with manufacturer representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment-related problems.
• Provide emergency on-call responsibilities.
• Research and initiate orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
• Conduct and compile Quality Assurance records and reports for compliance with specifications and policies.
• Document all significant asset-related actions per department practices.
• Must be capable of performing all duties of a BMET III.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, ormilitary training
• Prior experience of at least fiveyears experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or other appropriate related experience
• Minimum of fiveyears experience in the repair of radiology equipment and prior biomedical experience
• Should possess specialized knowledge in several specialized modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators, etc.
• Prefercertification (CRES) in these different modalities
• Good communication and strong customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as required
• Must be willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification(s)
