Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company, is seeking a BMET III to maintain and repair imaging equipment across healthcare sites nationwide. The role includes preventive maintenance, calibrations, major repairs, and on-call support to ensure uptime and compliance.

You will collaborate with manufacturers and cross-train BMET staff while documenting all actions and maintaining QA records for regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology or military training.
  • 7–10 years experience with imaging equipment manufacturers or related experience.
  • 7 years experience in repair of radiology equipment and biomedical exposure.
  • Specialized knowledge in modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators.
  • Certification (CRES) preferred across modalities.
  • Good communication and strong customer service skills.
  • Willingness to serve on-call as required.
  • Willing to serve as a technical resource to others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned preventive maintenance, calibrations where required, and electrical safety inspections on imaging equipment.
  • Perform major repairs by replacing defective components and readjust components per manufacturer specs.
  • Assist with diagnostic imaging cross-training of BMET Technicians.
  • Confer with manufacturers' representatives to resolve equipment issues.
  • Provide emergency on-call responsibilities.
  • Research and initiate orders for repair parts within budget parameters.
  • Document asset actions in compliance with department practices.
  • Must perform all duties of a BMET III.

  • Perform planned preventivemaintenance, calibrations where certification may be required and electrical safety inspections on imaging and related equipment in compliance with established standards

  • Assist with diagnostic imaging cross training of BMET Technicians
  • Confers with manufacturer’s representatives and equipment operators to resolve equipment related problems
  • Provide emergency on-call responsibilities
  • Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working within established budget parameters
  • Conducts and compiles Quality Assurance records and reports necessary for compliance with specifications and policies
  • Document all significant asset related actions in compliance with department practices
  • Must be capable of performing all the duties and responsibilities of a BMET III
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree in Electronics/Imaging Technology, Biomedical Equipment Technology, ormilitary training
  • Prior experience of at least seven to tenyears experience with various imaging equipment manufacturers or other appropriate related experience
  • Minimum of sevenyears experience in the repair of radiology equipment and prior biomedical experience
  • Should possess specialized knowledge in several specialized modalities such as radiology, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CT, cath. lab., linear accelerators, etc.
  • Prefercertification (CRES) in these different modalities
  • Good communication and strong customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to serve "on-call" duty as required
  • Must be willing to serve as a technical resource to others in areas of specialty or certification(s)
