In MRI at Main Campus Children's of Alabama

Work schedule will be Full-time on the Day Shift, 8:30a-5:00p.

Summary:
06/02/2017

Schedules CT and MRI exams appropriately for General Anesthesia, ED Sedation and Cardiac exams per physician’s order into the EPIC scheduling system, according to the most appropriate level of care for BR, McWane and Children’s South.

Other information:

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prefer some college coursework in Business Administration, Allied Health or related field
• Prefer graduate of approved medical terminology course

Experience

• 3 or more years of healthcare, office, customer service, financial, or insurance experience, preferably in the medical field.
• Excellent customer services skills are a must
• Prior experience in scheduling is preferred

MRI is an imaging test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to make pictures of organs and structures inside the body. As a vital part of our imaging department, you’ll work with advanced 3T MRI systems and on a 1.5T system to perform critical diagnostic scans that guide pediatric patient care. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of technologists, nurses and Physicians ensuring the highest quality imaging while providing a calm and comfortable experience for children and their families. The MRI team uses a few methods to ensure quality images. We work closely with the Anesthesia department, child life specialists and can play age-appropriate movies to distract the patient during the exam.
