Job summary

Children's of Alabama is seeking an experienced scheduling professional for the MRI/General Imaging team. You will schedule CT and MRI exams per physician orders into EPIC, ensuring the appropriate level of care for anesthesia and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities include coordinating with anesthesia, nursing and physician teams, and maintaining accurate schedules in a fast-paced pediatric imaging department. Day shift, full-time hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma; coursework in business, allied health or medical terminology preferred.
• 3+ years in healthcare/office/customer service; scheduling experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to coordinate with clinical teams.

Responsibilities

• Schedule CT and MRI exams per physician orders into the EPIC system.
• Coordinate with anesthesia, ED, and Cardiac exams to determine appropriate level of care.
• Ensure scheduling aligns with pediatric patient needs across departments.

Schedules CT and MRI exams appropriately for General Anesthesia, ED Sedation and Cardiac exams per physician’s order into the EPIC scheduling system, according to the most appropriate level of care for BR, McWane and Children’s South.

Education

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Prefer some college coursework in Business Administration, Allied Health or related field
• Prefer graduate of approved medical terminology course

Experience

• 3 or more years of healthcare, office, customer service, financial, or insurance experience, preferably in the medical field.
• Excellent customer services skills are a must
• Prior experience in scheduling is preferred

The MRI team uses a few methods to ensure quality images.
