Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Radiology Technologist for the Eastside Urgent Care, performing diagnostic imaging under supervision with a focus on safety and accuracy. Responsibilities include patient history review, positioning, radiation protection, and proper documentation.

Responsibilities extend to assisting licensed practitioners with fluoroscopy and radiography, using aseptic technique, and following all policy timeouts.

Qualifications

• Associates from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
• BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care)
• 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
• Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient's clinical history and lab results for licensed practitioner review.
• Positions and immobilizes patient to demonstrate the area of interest.
• Minimizes radiation exposure through protective principles.
• Operates imaging equipment and performs radiographic procedures.
• Verifies consent and documents pre/post procedure details.
• Assists licensed practitioner with fluoroscopy and radiography; maintains aseptic technique.
• Performs required timeouts and patient safety checks.
• Identifies and prepares medications/contrast as prescribed.
• Adheres to department policies and contributes to team goals.
