Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Patient Access Representative-Imaging to support billing, scheduling, and registration functions. The role involves processing orders, coordinating imaging appointments, and handling co-pays within a busy film library environment.

We require an Associate degree with a medical terminology certificate preferred, strong customer service, and proficiency with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree plus film library training or equivalent experience.
• Medical Terminology Certificate desired.
• Excellent customer service, telephone skills and etiquette required.
• Strong computer skills with medical-based programs.
• Experience with electronic medical records and patient registration systems.
• Prior hospital/medical office experience in patient access preferred.
• Microsoft Office desired; radiology experience preferred.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption with consent.

Responsibilities

• Perform all patient access duties to facilitate billing and reimbursement.
• Transcribe orders, schedule appointments, advanced registrations, and co-pay collection.
• Maintain work lists and queues; handle reception tasks and image access in the film library.
