Job summary

RR Donnelley in San Diego, CA seeks an hourly Printing & Bindery Operator to operate high-resolution printing equipment, program jobs, and maintain production logs. You will ensure image quality, manage color accuracy, and coordinate supplies to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires expertise with digital print/ink jet systems, file manipulation, and finishing processes. Training junior staff and adhering to safety standards are part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of digital print and/or ink jet equipment setup and operation.
• Ability to diagnose and fix operating problems affecting quality and timeliness.
• Knowledge of color theory and ability to adjust color to customer specs.
• Knowledge of file formats and digital print file manipulation.
• Experience setting up feed rollers, tensioning and inline finishing per job specs.

Responsibilities

• Operate high resolution, variable print proprietary imaging equipment.
• Program and prepare jobs for printing.
• Maintain daily print job production logs and daily delivery manifests.
• Setup, program and release jobs from print queue.
• Adjust image position and color quality as required.
• Monitor quality of job output for correctness and image quality.
• Order supplies such as ink, chemical solutions, blankets and rollers, paper, tabs, and other items as needed.
• May instruct junior level operators how to complete the required corrective adjustment.
