Job summary

Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard seeks a Computational Scientist I to join the Surfaceome Target Discovery team and the Getz lab. You will develop, optimize, and deploy quantitative image analysis workflows for digital pathology, collaborating with cancer research groups and pathology cores to accelerate target validation in tumor tissue microarrays.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with whole-slide images, IHC and mIF assays, and proficiency in Python, R, Groovy, and QuPath,

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in a quantitative life sciences field with digital pathology experience.
  • Hands-on experience with QuPath including cell detection and tissue microenvironment analysis.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and Groovy for image analysis and workflow automation.
  • Experience with deep learning for tissue segmentation and classification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize machine learning/AI methods for digital pathology (segmentation, classification, spatial analysis).
  • Build scalable preprocessing and analysis pipelines for TMA and whole-slide imaging datasets.
  • Validate imaging workflows and classifiers using benchmarking and external datasets.
  • Collaborate with pathologists to assess image quality, classifier accuracy, and artifacts.
  • Translate biological questions into quantitative imaging metrics and outputs.
  • Coordinate imaging analyses across cross-functional teams to meet project milestones.
  • Maintain well-documented, reproducible workflows and code repositories.
