Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Relieves the Director of Radiology and other medical personnel of administrative, clerical, and technical work by performing the following duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Compiles and records medical charts, and reports.
  • Enters exams into the hospital’s computer systems and programs it when new software arrives.
  • Answers telephone, schedules appointments, and greets and directs patients, salespeople, and visitors.
  • Translates instructions to Spanish-speaking patients.
  • Instructs new patients in the completion of information forms.
  • Instructs patients on preps necessary for scheduled exams.
  • Confirms patients' insurance eligibility with insurance companies when needed.
  • Files and obtains records as necessary from the x-ray film storage facility.
  • Copies all films when necessary and complies with subpoenas for x-ray films.
  • Transport patients to and from other areas of the hospital and imaging.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
