Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Certification for BLS is required.
• Must possess one or more years of experience as a Medical Imaging Assistant.
• Experience providing direct patient care is required.
• Must be able to exercise good judgment, effectively communicate, and use discretion with patients, staff and the general public.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy is required.
• Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software.
• Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Requires the ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an effective and organized fashion.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Clinician, RN or Technologist with exams and clinic procedures, stocking supplies, escorting patients, taking vitals and history, and setting up sterile trays.
• Works across multiple departments in imaging procedures (MRI, CT, PET/CT, Breast IR) and assists in biopsy-related tasks.
• Reviews patient history and reports condition changes to the clinician; suggests orders as needed for continuation of care.
• Maintains complete patient records, digitizes and uploads images to PACS, and fulfills requests for images/reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment, sterilizes equipment, and follows radiation safety policies.
