Job summary

EMERGEOrtho, P.A. is seeking an Imaging Assistant to support Burlington and South Point offices with 12-hour Sunday–Tuesday shifts. You will transport patients to Radiology, screen patients, and assist staff in delivering high-quality imaging care while adhering to safety and infection-control guidelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of customer service experience in a medical office or fast-paced setting.
• Ability to interact with Internet applications and email effectively.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Current CPR certification.
• Familiarity with practice management or medical office software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and escort them to the Radiology department.
• Prepare patients for study by ensuring proper attire and safety protocols.
• Screen patients prior to study and verify insurance where required.
• Transmit imaging orders to third party radiology group.
• Maintain infection control and OSHA compliance.
• Stock inventory and coordinate with Clinical Manager.

With offices across North Carolina, the Imaging Assistant promptly and safely transports patients to and from the Radiology Department according to established policies, procedures, and time schedules. Performs patient screenings prior to the study and assists clinical staff members upon request. This position will support both the Burlington and South Point offices, with the primary work location varying based on clinical needs. The scheduled shift is Sunday through Tuesday, consisting of 12-hour shifts.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications
• Knowledge of practice management and word processing software
• Current CPR certification
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Minimum one year of customer service experience in medical office setting, or other fast paced work setting

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following

• Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room and/or exam room to the Radiology department
• Prepares patients for study by dressing patient according to safety protocols
• Completes screening process on all patients prior to study
• Ensures laboratory results are received as indicated by study requirements
• Ensures all studies scheduled have correct orders and insurance authorizations on file prior to patient arrival and transmits to third party radiology group
• Utilize imaging software to transmit images to third party radiology group for purposes of study interpretation
• Takes stock inventory and completes ordering as directed by Clinical Manager
• Communicates with outside facilities and third-party participants to request and/or maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance
• Maintains compliance with Infection Control guidelines
• Complies with all OSHA mandates

Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
