Job summary

GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY is seeking an Imaging Assistant to support MRI operations at our Bloomington site. This part‑time role (20–25 hours per week) involves patient care, safety screening, and assisting technologists with imaging procedures.

You will work with our Radiology team across Blaine, Bloomington, and Lake Elmo sites, receiving training from the Radiology Supervisor and MRI team to ensure safe and efficient patient experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous patient care or medical terminology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients, explaining procedures, verifying identification, and ensuring patient comfort before entering MR.
• Conduct MRI safety screening, identify contraindications, and report findings to the MR technologist.
• Assist with patient positioning and immobilization under technologist supervision.
• Prepare materials for contrast administration, ensure IV supplies are ready, and follow aseptic protocols.
• Manage patient flow across MRI zones to minimize wait times and downtime between scans.
• Maintain a safe, clean MR suite and check ferromagnetic safety on equipment.
• Document imaging details in the EMR system and share imaging with patients/providers.

Description

As an Imaging Assistant, you will provide safe, quality patient care, while assisting technologists with the transport and care of patients. This position is part–time (20– 25 hours per week) with days and hours varying at the Blaine, Bloomington, and Lake Elmo sites. Complete training and mentorship from our Radiology Supervisor and MRI Team will be provided.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Patient Interaction & Support:Greeting patients, explaining the procedure, verify identification, answering questions, and ensuring patients feel comfortable before entering the MR environment.
• MRI Safety Screening:Conducting thorough safety questionnaires, identifying potential contraindications (implants, devices, metallic objects), and report findings to the supervising MR technologist.
• Preparation & Positioning Assistance:Helping patients onto the table, providing immobilization aids, and assisting with anatomical landmarking under direct technologist supervision.
• Contrast Procedure Support:Preparing necessary materials for contrast administration, ensuring IV supplies are ready, and following aseptic protocols (note: I.A. does not inject contrast).
• Workflow Efficiency:Managing patient flow across the MRI zones to minimize wait times and downtime between scans.
• Environmental Readiness:Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized MR suite, including checking ferromagnetic safety compliance on hospital equipment.
• Image & Data Management: Share Imaging for patients/providers, document details in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

The ideal candidate will be 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED and previous patient care experience or medical terminology experience.
