Job summary

RadNet in Maryland is seeking an In Suite Technical Assistant to join a dedicated team delivering quality imaging services. The role supports MRI safety, patient screening, and coordination with radiology staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent patient care.

You will assist in preparing MRI suites, handling coils, and observing patients during exams while maintaining HIPAA compliance and strong professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• Completion of approved MR Technologist Assistant program with hands-on training.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to MRI Steering Technologist, Radiologists and administrative staff to ensure MRI safety and quality patient care.
• Convey patient history to MRI Technologist for accurate MRI safety and assist with safety measures, coil positioning, screening, and observation during exams.
• Support technologists with coil set-up, schedule maintenance, and cleanup of MRI suite.
• Safeguard patient property and Health Information on site.
• Safeguard on-site medications per company policies and legal requirements.
• Maintain professional behavior toward patients and coworkers and respect patient boundaries.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, hours vary between 7:00am-6:00pm with an 8 hour shift

You Will

• Provide assistance to MRI Steering Technologist, Radiologists and/or administrative staff to provide optimal MRI safety and patient care.
• Convey patient history to the MRI Technologist for accurate MRI safety, assist MRI Technologists to ensure MRI safety, coil positioning, patient screening and/or history and patient observation during exams.
• Support technologists with procedures as needed; which includes the set-up of coils, schedule maintenance, and/or clean-up of MRI suite
• Demonstrates competency regarding the need to safeguard patient property and Patient Health Information.
• Safeguards any on site medications in accordance with Company policies, procedures and any legal requirements.
• Demonstrates respect for company property, including any cash and patient financial information on site or on patient portals.
• Is responsive to the needs of others by exhibiting and maintaining professional behavior toward patients and coworkers.
• Demonstrates respect for patient boundaries and cultural sensitivities during all interactions.
• Demonstrates ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the public in a clinical setting.

Role

To Ensure Success in This Role, You Must Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• BLS Certification is required
• At least one year medical back office experience strongly preferred
• Completion of approved MR Technologist Assistant program, including hands-on clinical training
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, public relations and verbal and written communication
• Must be able to assist in lifting patients onto table
