Job summary

Freedom Technology Solutions Group, LLC is seeking an Imagery Scientist with deep experience in imagery evaluations, image quality studies, and the development of image quality equations (IQEs). The role focuses on full image processing, digital signal processing, and image chain analysis including atmospheric modeling and radiometric accuracy.

Qualifications

• An active TS/SCI clearance (eligible for CI Poly).
• Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or related STEM field.
• 4-7 years of experience.
• Ability to develop and use more complex concepts and processes.
• Working knowledge and practical application of modeling components of the image creation path to include sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material properties.
• Simulation and modeling experience.
• Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle to include independent testing and data verification.
• Ability to develop algorithm description documentation for software development.
• Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
• Works generally independent and collaborative in nature.

Responsibilities

• Reports to a manager or head of a unit/department on a weekly basis.
• Understanding of imagery scientist processes and procedures for the team.
• Contribution to team structure and cadence.
• Providing metrics, reports, and presentations as requested by the government lead and PM
• Work to improve efficiency with team processes
• Contribute to team discussions and recommend improvements.
• Guides and supports junior level personnel
• Conduct root cause problem analysis and develop technical solutions to problems
