Job summary

KLA seeks an Image Sensor and Camera Electronics Scientist to join the CTO Office in Milpitas. You will lead R&D projects on sensor and camera electronics, collaborating with vendors and internal teams to push the product roadmap and test new concepts.

Responsibilities include designing prototype sensors, developing high-speed test setups, and analyzing results to drive concrete conclusions. Doctorate with 5+ years or Master’s with 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with CCD/CMOS image sensors and camera systems.
• Hands-on lab experience building and operating experimental test setups for image sensor characterization.
• Experience in design and simulation of high-speed, low-noise analog/digital circuits for image sensor readout.
• Proficiency in software development for test setup automation and data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D projects on image sensor and camera electronics to advance KLA's product roadmap.
• Collaborate with strategic vendors to develop next-gen image sensor tech.
• Design prototype sensors and test structures; develop experimental test setups for electrical and optical characterization.
• Analyze data, run experiments, and present conclusions with concrete guidance.
• Solve complex sensor and camera electronics problems; coordinate with cross-functional teams.
