Job summary

tds group is seeking a detail-oriented IMAC Technician to support end-user computing environments, handling workstation setup, deployment, and moves in on-site New York offices. You will disconnect and reconnect desktops and laptops, set up new workstations with monitors, docking stations, and peripherals, and perform basic hardware troubleshooting.

Ideal candidates have hands-on PC hardware knowledge, familiarity with Windows or macOS, and basic networking understanding.

Qualifications

  • Experience with workstation setup, hardware deployment, or desktop support.
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS environments.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, ports, cabling).
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to ~50 lb.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, processes, and timelines.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable IMAC Technician to support end‑user computing environments. The role involves disconnecting, relocating, reconnecting, and setting up computer workstations, including new deployments and office moves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Disconnect and reconnect desktop and laptop workstations during office moves or reconfigurations
  • Set up new workstations, including computers, monitors, docking stations, keyboards, mice, and peripherals
  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary
  • Ensure proper cable management and clean, professional workstation setups
  • Follow IMAC procedures, checklists, and documentation standards
  • Test equipment and confirm functionality before handoff to end users
  • Provide basic end‑user support during workstation setup and transition
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, security policies, and company IT standards
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with workstation setup, hardware deployment, or desktop support
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware, monitors, docking stations, and peripherals
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or macOS environments
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (Ethernet, ports, cabling)
  • Ability to lift and move equipment (typically up to 40–50 lbs)

  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous IMAC, desktop support, or field technician experience
  • Experience working in corporate or enterprise IT environments
  • A+ certification or similar technical certification
Work Environment
  • On‑site corporate office locations
  • Walking, standing, bending, and lifting throughout the day
  • Occasional after‑hours or weekend work for large moves or deployments
