Job summary

St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY is hiring a Medical Assistant for the IM/Pediatrics team. The role involves clinical support to physicians, preparing patients for exams, and ensuring overall regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• One year MA/CNA/PCA/STNA/SEH Clinical Care Tech experience or MA program completion with externship
• Completion of SEP Internship or EMT certification or health/biological sciences degree with clinical care activity

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and document vitals.
• Take and record vital signs (weight, BP, pulse, temp) in chart.
• Provide patient instructions and address concerns.
• Prepare patient for exams and assist providers during examinations.
• Perform nursing procedures under supervision.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform basic tests.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed.
• Ensure chart accuracy and complete forms for revenue cycle.
• Maintain supplies and sterilize equipment; report malfunctions.
• Follow OSHA/CLIA/HIPAA compliance; manage logs and checks.
• Triage calls and process messages from patients/front desk to providers.
• Assist with referrals, scheduling, and precertifications.
