Job summary

Saban Community Clinic in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an IM or FM physician to provide primary care to adult patients at the Temple Health Center. The role runs Monday–Friday 8:00 A.M.–4:30 P.M., on-site at 2121 W Temple St, 90026, with a team of pediatricians and medical assistants supporting care for younger patients.

The compensation offers a salary range of $265,000 to $280,000 per year, plus benefits including 40 CME hours, a $15,000 sign-on bonus, paid license renewals, and 403(b) retirement

Qualifications

  • A valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
  • Board certification or eligibility in primary care specialty.
  • Current DEA license and BCLS certificate.
  • Competency in evaluating and treating general pediatric and adult ambulatory care.
  • Basic knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to care of patients in a clinic setting; CHDP, Medi-Cal and Title X preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides primary care services to Clinic patients including physical examinations, ordering and interpreting tests, and determining treatment courses.
  • Assists patients and families in navigating care at the Clinic and beyond.
  • Mentors students and residents in care management and treatment planning.
  • Participates in quality improvement, clinical standards, and peer review.
  • Meets with staff to discuss clinical concerns and care improvements.
  • Participates in team meetings to improve health care delivery and clinic protocols.
  • Contributes to new clinic programs and health care initiatives.
  • Identifies training needs and supports staff development.

We are excited to partner with The Children's Institute and open a new medical clinic within their building to help service their clients. With a Pediatrician and Medical Assistants helping our smaller patients, we are looking for an IM or FM Physician for our adult patients!

IM or FM Needed Monday - Friday 8:00A.M. - 4:30P.M. at 2121 W Temple St, 90026

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides primary care services to Clinic patients including: Conducting physical examinations, ordering and interpreting the results of laboratory, x-ray and other tests; Determining and implementing courses of treatment, providing and monitoring the results of treatment; and adjusting as needed
  • Proactively assists the patient and family through all facets of accessing care at the Clinic and elsewhere, serving as a resource to resolve patient and family concerns.
  • Confers with student and resident physicians and other professional and support staff regarding care and treatment of patients and assists/mentors them in management of illness.
  • Participates in the improving the quality of care including participation in peer review, setting clinical standards for medical support staff, and monitoring quality of medical services to patients.
  • Meets and consults with other staff providers on an on-going, regular basis to discuss clinical concerns and opportunities for care improvement.
  • Participates in team meetings and provides input on general operational issues to improve the quality of health care delivery including the Clinics Best Practices team to create and monitor protocols/guidelines for patient care and uniformity of forms.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new Clinic programs; may assume leadership for new health care initiatives and projects.
  • Identifies training needs of staff and collaborates others to develop and implement appropriate training programs and opportunities to ensure a skilled and knowledgeable staff.
Position Requirements:
  • A valid license to practice medicine in the State of California, with no pending or previous disciplinary action from any state licensing entity
  • Board certification or eligibility in primary care specialty,
  • Current DEA license and BCLS certificate
  • Competency in evaluating and treating general pediatric and adult ambulatory care
  • Basic knowledge of local, state and federal regulations relating to care of patients in a clinic setting; and prior experience with county, state and federal programs such as CHDP, FPACT, EWC, Medi-Cal and Title X is preferred.
