Daifuku Intralogistics America Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to design and implement automated material handling systems. You will convert quotes into detailed engineering designs, create fabrication drawings, and coordinate with vendors and teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsabilidades

• Performs diverse, specialized, and complex work with accountability and decision-making.
• Designs automated and semi-automated material handling systems; customize standard designs per specs.
• Creates operation descriptions to ensure designs meet customer expectations.
• Creates approval, permit, installation, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.
• Obtains quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders; estimates costs.
• Monitors project schedule, engineering time, and material costs; coordinates with other disciplines.
• Travels up to 30%.

The Project Engineer creates engineering designs for industrial material handling storage systems from the quote stage to final engineering. Typical projects include the design and installation of industrial steel storage rack, structural steel platforms, conveyor support structures, shelving, elevated walkways, and custom designed products in large distribution centers. Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Performs diverse, specialized, and complex work involving significant accountability and decision-making responsibility
• Designs new automated and semi-automated material handling systems and proposes modifications to existing equipment; customizes standard designs based on customer specifications and scope documents
• Creates description of operation documents to ensure designs meet customer expectations
• Creates approval, permit, installation, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders and estimates costs
• Monitors the project schedule, engineering time, and material costsWorks with other disciplines on project team to make sure engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
• Travels up to 30%

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering design and project execution
• Experience engineering or construction experience, preferably in the material handling industry

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Projects, SharePoint and Visio
• Ability to speak Japanese is a plus
• Ability to handle multiple project assignments and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
• Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Ability to learn new technology
