Project Genesis, Inc. in Wallingford, CT is seeking compassionate Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to help individuals with Acquired Brain Injury rebuild life skills and gain independence.

The role is full-time, 1st shift (8am–4pm), with starting pay of $18.00/hour and inclusive benefits. You will work one-on-one with clients under personalized plans and contribute to a mission-driven nonprofit that values its team.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required).
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record.
• Verifiable Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI): 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR 1 year with a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
• Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client’s personalized service plan.
• Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress - big and small.
• Be a positive, steady presence as your clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.
