Project Genesis, Inc. seeks compassionate Independent Living Skills Trainers (ILST) to join our Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) program in Clinton, CT. You will work one-on-one with individuals to rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently within a mission-driven nonprofit.

You’ll provide non-medical care and coaching per personalized plans, supporting daily routines, budgeting, cooking, communication, and socialization. Growth opportunities are offered in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and good driving record.
• Verifiable ABI experience: 2 years with HS diploma, or 1 year with bachelor’s.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals in developing independent living skills such as daily routines, budgeting, cooking, and communication.
• Provide non-medical care, supervision, and socialization based on each client’s personalized service plan.
• Encourage, guide, and celebrate progress—big and small!
• Be a positive, steady presence as clients build stronger, more fulfilling lives.

You’ll work one-on-one with individuals, helping them rebuild life skills, gain confidence, and live more independently - all while being part of a mission-driven nonprofit that truly values its team.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and good driving record.
• Verifiable Experience with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI):
• 2 years with a high school diploma or equivalent, OR
• 1 year with a bachelor’s degree.
