Job summary

Maryland Institute College of Art is seeking a Wellness Coordinator for MICA Fitness in Baltimore. This part-time student position requires active enrollment, leadership, and a passion for health promotion with responsibilities across programming and front-desk support.

You will work up to 8 hours weekly on program areas and 3–4 hours at the front desk, coordinating events and trainings while collaborating with Health Promotions Educator and staff.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled as a current student at MICA.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00.
  • Participate in CPR/AED and First Aid training.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Interest in fitness and recreational activities.
  • A strong desire to work with and lead other students.
  • Previous fitness center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement Health Promotion Initiatives.
  • Work up to 8 hours per week managing area of responsibility, programming, and communicating with constituents.
  • Work 3-4 hours per week at the front desk as a Fitness Assistant.
  • Manage assigned area of responsibility.
  • Attend weekly coordinator meetings and report on area of responsibility.
  • Plan and execute at least two Wellness programs per month each semester.
  • Liaise between departments and the Fitness Center.
  • Staff programs and events run by Fitness Center.
  • Assist in training of Fitness Assistants and new Wellness Coordinators.
