Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as a Methods and Procedures Advisor II within the Immunization Section. This individual will support the Illinois Immunization Information System (I-CARE) by implementing and monitoring electronic data exchange with healthcare providers and organizations. Under direction, responsibilities include testing and evaluating Health Level Seven (HL7) data submissions, ensuring compliance with national data exchange standards, and supporting interjurisdictional exchange through the Immunization Gateway (IZ Gateway). The individual will collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance IIS functionality, incorporate new data sources to improve record completeness, and assess overall data quality. Additional duties include supporting system upgrades, working with the Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) to ensure compliance with security and data standards, and performing help desk and user support activities.
