Job summary

Tower Semiconductor in Newport Beach, CA, seeks a PhD-level or equivalent experienced engineer to develop and optimize III-V semiconductor lasers and devices in its manufacturing facilities. Qualifications

  • PhD in semiconductor optics or related field; or 5+ years in a similar role.
  • Practical knowledge of III-V epitaxial reactor growth (MOCVD or MBE).
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with developing III-V semiconductor processing steps and integration.
  • Expert-level understanding of the outputs and figures of merit for lasers and other III-V devices.
  • Optical and electrical characterization experience of III-V devices (lasers, amplifiers, modulators, transistors).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize semiconductor lasers and other III-V devices within Tower fabs.
  • Perform first principles device simulations and epitaxial growth technique development.
  • Integrate processing steps to build devices and test/analyze results.
  • Troubleshoot and improve yield for III-V devices in a volume foundry environment.
