Job summary

Meridian Services is seeking an IHS Specialist to support individuals in their homes across the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. You will assist with daily living tasks, community outings, meal prep, and personal support toward personal goals in a respectful, person-centered environment.

The role requires 18+ years, valid vehicle and insurance, English proficiency, Wi-Fi device, and DHS background clearance. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–9:00pm, at $30/hour with benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old to support Adult Programs.
• Proficient in spoken and written English language.
• Have a vehicle to use for work-related purposes with current car insurance.
• Have an acceptable driving record as determined by Meridian Services policy.
• Wi-Fi-enabled device for work-related purposes.
• Successful clearance of a Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Study.

Responsibilities

• Work on tailored outcomes with each person served, including budgeting, behavioral management, community exploration, meal planning, organizational skills, and coping skills.
• Be an active participant with individuals served when working on outcomes and in the community.
• Provide guidance and instructional teaching to persons served while building life skills.
• Provide supervision and transportation in the community for activities and appointments.

Job Title: IHS Specialist

Wage: $30.00 per hour including company benefits

Job Summary: As an Individualized Home Support (IHS) Specialist, you will assist individuals in their personal residence or family home in working toward their personal goals. DSP staff support individuals with tasks such as meal preparation, community outings, shopping, cleaning, attending appointments, and other activities in their homes and communities.

Essential Job Duties:

• Work on tailored outcomes with each person served. Outcomes may include budgeting, behavioral management, community exploration, meal planning, organizational skills, coping skills, and/or physical fitness
• Be an active participant with individuals served when working on outcomes and when out in the community
• Provide guidance and instructional teaching to persons served while building life skills
• Provide supervision and transportation in the community for activities and appointments.

Required Qualifications:

• Staff must be at least 18 years of age to support Adult Programs
• Proficient in spoken and written English language
• Have a vehicle to use for work related purposes with current car insurance
