Job summary
Atlas is seeking an Industrial Hygiene Technician 2 to perform environmental inspections and sampling for hazardous materials, including asbestos, lead and mold, across eastern MA and New England. The role requires licensure as an Asbestos Project Monitor, Asbestos Inspector, or Lead Inspector and involves fieldwork with PPE and safety protocols.
Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of IH technician experience, knowledge of OSHA/regulated standards, and a willingness to travel; HAZWOPER certification
Qualifications
- Must hold a professional license as an Asbestos Project Monitor, Asbestos Inspector, or Lead Inspector.
- 1-3 years of experience as an industrial hygiene technician.
- Must wear respirator and PPE as needed.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations on asbestos/lead.
- Travel locally in eastern MA and regionally in Eastern New England.
- 40-hr HAZWOPER certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct surveys for asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and other hazardous materials.
- Oversee asbestos/lead abatement activities.
- Collect field notes and site photos.
- Prepare chain-of-custody documents for testing.
- Compile data and assist in reporting and recommendations.
- Operate equipment such as XRF, moisture meters, pumps, IAQ meters.
- Calibrate instruments after training.
- Drive company vehicle as needed.
- Travel to project sites regionally.
- Work nights and weekends up to 70%.
