Job summary

Lear For You is seeking a SCADA Ignition Developer to support, implement, and develop Ignition standards, pipelines, databases, and interfaces across Lear, globally. Design, develop, test, and support HMI/SCADA applications on Ignition, interfacing with PLCs and data pipelines, spanning on-prem and cloud with local/remote access.

Collaborate with senior engineers, plant ops, maintenance, and IT to deploy reliable solutions, train end users, and enhance efficiency.

Qualifications

2 to 3 years of hands-on experience developing and deploying Ignition SCADA applications (Perspective and/or Vision).
Working experience with Ignition 8.x, platform changes noted.
Working knowledge of SQL and Python/Jython scripting, along with the Ignition Expression Language.
Familiarity with JSON, CSS, and JavaScript as they apply to Perspective development.

Responsibilities

Assume responsibility for projects and ensure they are completed on time, fulfilling all project requirements.
Work closely with team members and clients to create and implement solutions.
Write Named Queries and support database design and integration with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other databases.
Contribute to reusable component libraries and scripts across Gateway, Designer, and Client scopes, using version control.
Support commissioning, FAT/SAT, and on-site deployment, and help train end users on new applications.
Troubleshoot production issues and assist with performance tuning, backup, and redundancy efforts.
Create and maintain documentation, including functional specifications, system diagrams, and as-built records.
Offer technical support and guidance to team members and clients.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to boost efficiency and productivity.
Keep current with the latest Ignition developments and be willing to integrate them into projects.
Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in all work.
