Job summary

The Bureau of Naval Personnel seeks qualified candidates to support the Office of the Inspector General in Annapolis, MD. Responsibilities include planning and conducting inspections to ensure compliance with directives, handling complaints, and performing hotline investigations as assigned by the IG.

Qualified candidates will assess internal controls, manage risk, and coordinate non-IG functions such as procurement and records management.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience must demonstrate advising on IG inspections and assessments.
• Investigate hotline allegations and complaints to determine violations.
• Recommending actions to correct deficiencies and strengthen internal control.
• Briefing managers and senior officials on case status, findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and conduct inspections to assess compliance with directives and internal controls.
• Receive and analyze complaints/requests from service members and personnel.
• Independently conduct investigations of hotline/whistleblower complaints as assigned by the IG.
• Assess internal controls and manage risk to support mission goals.
• Coordinate non-IG functions (procurement, records, IT equipment) in the IG office.
• Assist in auditing liaison for audits, inspections, surveys, and studies by GAO, DoD IG, and Naval Audit Service.
