Job summary

Primarily treats and transports the sick or injured. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare. Qualifications: Education & Training: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program as an Emergency Medical Technician, formally known as EMT- Basic. Experience: None. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current Georgia EMT (formally EMT-Basic) certification. Valid Georgia driver’s license. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. CPT training and PEARS within 9 months of hire. FAST-ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility performance evaluation. Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, volunteers and management. Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress. Be able to think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations, which may occur. Be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment.
