Job summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician to provide pre-hospital emergency medical care and patient transport. You will carry out emergency assessments, initiate care, and coordinate with EMS teams to deliver timely treatment in the field.

The role requires completion of AEMT training, current AHA/ARC BLS, and ongoing certifications. Expect an on-call expanded shift with rapid response requirements across service areas.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED; completion of an AEMT vocational training program.
• Current Georgia AEMT certification and valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification; PALS/PEARS within 9 months; CPT training within 9 months; FAST-ED stroke scale within 3 months.

Qualifications

• A. Education & Training: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.
• B. Experience: None.
• C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: Current Georgia AEMT certification. Valid Georgia driver’s license. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. AHA/ARC PALS or PEARS certification within 9 months. CPT training within 9 months of hire. FAST-ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of hire.
• D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Have the physical ability to perform the job as determined by a physical agility performance evaluation. Have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in English and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Have the ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, volunteers and management. Be able to effectively perform prolonged work under adverse emergency conditions involving physical and mental stress. Be able to think clearly and use independent judgment in routine and non-routine situations, which may occur. Be able to utilize diagnostic equipment as well as patient care equipment. Be able to utilize personal protective equipment such as gloves, gown, mask, etc.
