PHI Health, the leading air ambulance provider in the United States, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Helicopter Captain to join our elite team in Columbus, MS. This role offers a sign‑on bonus of up to $75,000 and the chance to make a real impact from the cockpit.

Job Summary

Operate PHI Air Medical Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operations under CAMTS guidelines as a Captain on the EC135 SPIFR/NVG platform. Work 24‑hour day/night rotations, supporting aircraft transition if necessary and relocation packages where applicable. This role requires a 1-year minimum service commitment if aircraft transition is needed; a 2‑year commitment if a relocation package is utilized.

Responsibilities
  • Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the Guidance and Operations Manual (GAWM).
  • Support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment – may require lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Work with both internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
Qualifications
  • Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings.
  • First Class Medical certification.
  • CAMTS requirements: 2,000 total flight hours, 1,500 helicopter hours, 1,000 hours PIC on helicopters, 500 hours turbine helicopters, 100 hours unaided night operations or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG, 75 hours instrument (actual & hood).
  • Weight restriction: 235 lbs or less.
  • Strong communication and internal/external customer service skills; interview and acceptance by customer/PHI management.
  • Pass pre‑placement physical exam, functional capacity test (including lifting 100 pounds), drug screening, and background check.
Compensation and Benefits

Competitive pay base, shift bonuses, shift incentives, annual safety bonus, annual employee bonus, and more. Sign‑on bonus up to $75,000. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Schedule & Location

Schedule: 7/7 rotation; day of week the base changes schedules, and schedule changes may be required. Must reside within 1‑hour commute of the base. The base is located in Columbus, MS.
