Job summary

ReNEW Schools is seeking an Education Assistant to support IEP implementation and assist the classroom teacher of service in Indiana. The role emphasizes confidentiality and collaborating to meet student needs in the classroom.

The assistant will help with IEP services, support homework and instruction per the IEP, and participate in required trainings. This position requires sensitivity to student needs and may include basic medical support as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED or builder principal waiver.
• Aptitude for the work to be performed.
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Practice and maintain confidentiality.
• Assist the teacher with implementing IEP services.
• Facilitate student needs with homework, instruction, or other needs as specified in the IEP or by the classroom teacher of service.
• Participate in annual trainings and certifications as required by the job assignment.
• Support the child in the general education setting as assigned by the classroom teacher of service.
• Provide appropriate medical care to students who need assistance if needed.
