Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our staff in Kansas. You will develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students, collaborate with school staff and families, and create engaging lesson plans aligned with IEP goals.

As part of our team, you will participate in IEP meetings, monitor progress, and maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment while partnering with therapists and administrators to support

Qualifications

• Experience working with K-12 children.
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field required.
• Strong communication and collaboration with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
• Communicate progress and challenges to families and staff.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans and submit for administrator approval.
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings as scheduled by the school.
• Use positive reinforcement techniques to support student growth.
• Invite family participation in students’ educational progress.
• Create and distribute progress reports quarterly.
• Collaborate with on-site therapists on behavioral and disciplinary issues.
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.
