Job summary

Alexandria City Public Schools seeks a Compliance and Data Specialist to assist the executive director in ensuring state and federal regulatory compliance. The role coordinates IEP training and guides instructional staff to implement IEPs accurately, while supporting data collection and mandatory reporting to state and federal agencies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education.
• Virginia Postgraduate license with Special Education endorsement (admin endorsement preferred but not required).
• Minimum 5 years experience in special education as teacher or specialist.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to central office and school-based staff on policy and instructional services.
• Assist in development and implementation of special education policies and procedures.
• Interpret Federal and State regulations affecting special education.
• Monitor compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Prepare state reports and act as surrogate parent advocate when needed.
