Job summary

St. Mary's County Public Schools – Department of Special Education, Leonardtown, Maryland, seeks a Compliance Instructional Resource Teacher to ensure IEPs and related documentation meet federal and state requirements through direct and consultative support.

The role develops and maintains a compliance database, trains IEP chairpersons, and monitors annual reporting; strong collaboration, confidentiality, and project management are essential in this 11‑month professional position.

Qualifications

• Advanced Professional teacher’s certificate with endorsement on Special Education or Curriculum and Instruction.
• Five years of effective teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain a compliance database/program for all Special Education students.
• Develop long and short-term goals and support for site-based teams to ensure and maintain compliance with State and Federal regulations.
• Provide training and support to IEP Chairpersons.
• Assist with the completion of all Federal, State, and local reports related to compliance and Special Education.
• Develop and implement On-Line IEP technical support and training activities to assist schools in addressing identified and ongoing compliance regulations.

Education

Advanced Professional Teacher Certificate in Special Education or Curriculum and Instruction

Master’s Degree in Education
