Wichita State University Industry and Defense Programs is lookingfor a Program Manager to join our NIAR CAD/CAM (Digital Twin &Digital Manufacturing) Team! The ideal candidate will beexperienced and comfortable in communicating, outlining andplanning all aspects of work related to a given program such asbudget, timelines and teams. They will have strong communicationskills that enable them to effectively communicate with allrelevant teams. This individual should be able to utilize metricsto foresee any problems related to the completion of a program andact in a timely manner to mitigate any issues, and report it indaily or weekly manner to the Principal Investigator(s) and SeniorManagement. Research programs will range from moderately complexprojects to large highly complex programs with high programmaticrisk.
Utilizes industry standard project management tools and techniques,and earned value management, to effectively manage the IntegratedManagement System (IMS), risk issues & opportunities (RIO),project budget performance, and earned value performance to ensurescope, schedule, budget, contractual, and technical requirementsare achieved. Works independently and in conjunction with theproject team for multiple medium to large highly complex researchprograms from proposal pursuit through project completion, ensuringcompliance with all program requirements.
Partners with the Principal Investigator (PI) and project team todevelop, maintain, and manage project schedules and budgets formultiple medium to large highly complex research programs, fromproposal pursuit through project completion, and ensures compliancewith all program requirements Coordinates and leads project teammeetings and maintains detailed project documentation includingmeeting minutes, action items, issues lists and risk managementplans Provides timely and effective project status reportingregarding milestones, cost, schedule, deliverable, dependencies,and risks, opportunities and issues Assists in development andsubmission of required technical and financial progress reportsAnalyzes financial data, including project budgets, risks, andresource allocation Assists with establishing, maintaining, andcontinuously improving standard project management best practices,templates, procedures, tools, and partnerships to expand and maturethese capabilities for enterprise-wide application Acts as aninternal quality and compliance control check for assignedprojects; performs audit checks as required and assists withtraining Contributes to achievement of departmental goals andoperating plans Completes, participates, and leads special projectsas assigned
Experience managing Earned Value Management (EVM) drivenprograms.
Bachelor's degree Finance, Project Management, Business,Management, or related field
Five (5) years of project management, and/or relevant experiencerequired, or equivalent combination of education andexperience
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
Experience performing CSDR activities, including utilizing theOffice of Secretary of Defense’s CADE system.
Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a securityclearance.
Five (5) years of experience in program management.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment includingbut not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially, bothreceptively and expressively.
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchangeinformation.
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
Ability to move or traverse across campus, within buildings andoffices, and/or across external environments.
