The Chronicle of Higher Education, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to support SHOC operations, monitor security, and enforce cybersecurity best practices in a real‑world SOC environment.

Work Schedule: 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday; additional hours maybe requested as needed; work is performed on-site and inperson.
Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires accessto EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required tobe eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and mustmeet the requirement of being a “U.S. Citizen”.
WSU IDP is currently searching for a Cybersecurity Analyst toassist with NIAR’s Security Helpdesk and Operations Center (SHOC).The SHOC is responsible for monitoring and safeguarding theorganization’s systems and data, as well as enforcing cybersecurityindustry best practices and compliance with NIST 800-171. The SHOCalso plays a support and collaborative role with other WSU InfoSecteams.
As a Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a crucial role insupporting our cybersecurity efforts. This job offers a uniqueopportunity to apply and expand your knowledge in a real-worldcybersecurity environment. You will work alongside with ourCybersecurity Teams, gaining hands‑on experience in a SecurityOperations Center (SOC) environment and other cybersecuritydomains.
This position offers substantial exposure to the ever‑evolvingcybersecurity sector, and an opportunity to work with differenttools, to be creative, and to be part of solutions to safeguard oursystems, network, data and infrastructure.
Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety ofinformation systems assets and to protect systems from intentionalor inadvertent access or destruction.
Interfaces with user community to understand their security needsand implements procedures to provide accommodations. Ensures thatuser community understands and adheres to necessary procedures tomaintain security. Conducts accurate evaluation of the level ofsecurity required. Provides management with status reports andsecurity metrics. Functions as part of the incident responseteam
Foundational cybersecurity knowledge, understanding ofcybersecurity concepts, protocols, and best practices.

Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, ComputerScience, or related field.
1-2 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferrable in a SOC oras cybersecurity analyst.
Relevant coursework or certifications in cybersecurity (e.g.,CompTIA Security+, Network+, etc.)
Knowledge and understanding of security concepts such as Phishing,Incident Response, Threat Analysis, and CybersecurityAwareness
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, Project, Excel, PowerPointand Visio
Adept at writing technical documents
Presentation skills
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchangeinformation.
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment includingbut not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
Ability to remain in a stationary position.
