The University of Kansas Health System is seeking an experienced Identity Operations Manager to lead our Identity Operations team within the Security and Identity Solutions organization. This leadership role is responsible for the strategic oversight, operational excellence, and continuous improvement of our identity and access management (IAM) services, ensuring secure, reliable, and compliant access across the enterprise. As the Identity Operations Manager, you will lead a team responsible for the day-to-day delivery of IAM services while driving the maturity and evolution of identity operations processes, governance, and technologies. You will oversee identity lifecycle management, access provisioning and deprovisioning, role and group administration, authentication services, privileged access processes, and identity governance activities. This role requires strong leadership skills, operational accountability, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business leaders, compliance stakeholders, and executive leadership. Key responsibilities include managing Identity Operations staff, establishing operational standards and performance metrics, overseeing complex access and identity-related issues, and ensuring the effective delivery of IAM services. You will be responsible for driving process optimization, developing and maintaining operational procedures, supporting audits and regulatory requirements, and partnering with engineering teams on platform enhancements and strategic IAM initiatives. The Identity Operations Manager will also play a critical role in stakeholder engagement, customer experience, workforce planning, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in identity and access management, people leadership experience, and a deep understanding of security best practices, compliance requirements, and identity governance principles. This position requires the ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution while ensuring the organization maintains a strong security posture.
