Job Description

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an entry level Identity Data and Data Management Analyst I to join Data Platform and Analytics, a unit within UFIT.

The Identity Data and Data Management Analyst will support the University’s mission to steward institutional data responsibly, ensuring accuracy, ethical use, and value extraction. The role focuses on enforcing governance policies, managing core data assets, resolving duplicate identity records, and performing analysis of identity data for strategic decision‑making.

Some Key Responsibilities And Characteristics Of This Position Are
  • Data Management and Governance Support
    • Assist in implementing and maintaining data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
    • Monitor compliance with data‑quality, security, and privacy requirements.
    • Maintain central data repositories (e.g., master data hubs, data catalogs).
    • Perform routine data enrichment, cleansing, and lineage documentation.
  • Identity Data Analysis
    • Conduct descriptive and diagnostic analytics on identity data to uncover patterns, gaps, and opportunities.
    • Produce concise reports and dashboards for stakeholders (e.g., registrar, finance, IT).
  • Duplicate Identity Resolution
    • Identify, investigate, and resolve duplicate identity records using profile matching algorithms and manual review.
    • Collaborate with the Identity Services team to keep the university master identity model consistent.
  • Metadata & Taxonomy Management
    • Leverage library science methodologies to curate metadata schemas and data taxonomies.
    • Ensure metadata standards align with institutional and external (e.g., RDA, Dublin Core) guidelines.

Expected Salary

$61,000; commensurate based on education and experience.

Preferred

The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Introductory experience (internship or coursework) in data governance, data cataloging, or identity resolution.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation and analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Prior exposure to university data governance initiatives or similar institutional settings.

This is not a remote work position and is located in Gainesville, FL.
