The University of Notre Dame is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented IAM Associate Administrator to join our award-winning Office of Information Technology (OIT). In this entry-level to early-career role, you will support critical identity and access management systems including Okta, Active Directory (AD), and Entra ID — helping to safeguard user access and secure the University’s digital assets.
You will collaborate with Information Security and other IT teams, as well as campus partners, to ensure Notre Dame’s systems remain secure and compliant — making sure the right people have the right access, to the right resources, at the right time and in the right context. What You’ll Do
  1. Support Secure Access – Assist in managing user provisioning and access across Notre Dame’s technology ecosystem, ensuring appropriate access at the right times.
  2. Respond with Agility – Address access requests, troubleshoot incidents, and deliver timely resolutions professionally.
  3. Champion Security Excellence – Partner with Information Security and IT teams to implement and uphold industry-leading IAM policies, standards, and practices.
  4. Drive Accountability – Support access reviews and compliance initiatives to maintain security integrity.
  5. Solve Complex Challenges – Work with senior analysts to troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated access issues.
  6. Create Knowledge – Develop clear, user-friendly documentation and internal knowledge bases to support IAM operations.
  7. Innovate – Contribute to the evolution and enhancement of Notre Dame’s IAM infrastructure.
  8. Shape the Future – Participate in projects implementing next-generation IAM technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic understanding of IAM principles (e.g., least privilege, RBAC)
  • Familiarity with directory services such as Active Directory
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Work authorization in the United States without visa sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IAM technologies in higher education
  • Exposure to IAM tools like Okta, Ping, SailPoint, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management or ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
  • Scripting skills
  • Familiarity with DevOps and agile practices
