Job summary

Midland States Bank seeks an Intern – Service Center Engineer (IAM) in St. Louis, MO for Summer 2027. You will assist the IAM team with identity governance activities and learn Okta, ITSM workflows, and data analysis while supporting access requests and remediation under guidance.

The internship runs for the summer and requires residency in St. Louis, MO with a 40-hour work week; strong communication and analytical skills, and coursework in IT/cybersecurity are expected.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in IT/cybersecurity or related degree with at least 2 years completed.
• Ability to work a 40-hour week, Mon-Fri 8am–5pm.
• Must reside locally to St. Louis, MO and report to the St. Louis office.
• Basic understanding of Windows and iOS operating systems.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication including teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Learn IAM concepts and identity lifecycle management with IAM engineers.
• Gain foundational knowledge of Okta and governance within Midland.
• Observe how access requests flow into ITSM and assist with remediation.
• Complete a project mapping Midland's identity governance layer and metrics.
• Analyze data, document processes, and collaborate with IT support teams.
• Support with access requests and remediation under supervision.
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations including BSA.
