The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs.GCU maintains a partnership with the IdentiFreed located at 13637 N 32nd Street, Phoenix, AZ, 85032. IdentiFreed’s mission is to empower individuals exiting situations such as trafficking, domestic violence, and addiction via employment, mentorship, discipleship, and practical support. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of IdentiFreed; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring). If eligible, CSLP student workers can work during summer (i.e., May – August).*CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community.**As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).*Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.**Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:**Assist clients in completing applications and required documentation to access available resources and services. Facilitate access to essential needs by helping clients obtain clothing, hygiene supplies, and other basic necessities. Support retail operations by assisting with merchandising, donation intake, inventory organization, and point-of-sale transactions in the thrift store. Contribute to outreach and communications efforts through marketing support, newsletter development, social media engagement, and community outreach initiatives. Prepare and distribute hygiene kits and assist in coordinating resource distribution to clients. Engage in community outreach and ministry events as available to promote services and strengthen community connections.
