Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is seeking an IDD Special Education Teacher to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in an educational context. The role focuses on evaluating needs, designing curricula, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality services.

Responsibilities include implementing training programs, monitoring progress, planning activities, and training staff to apply learning across settings.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Special Education or related field; willingness to obtain birth-to-kindergarten certification.
• Maintain current teaching certification/license or actively work towards requirements.
• Certifications may include CPR, First Aid, NCI A/B, CPI as required by state standards.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates learners’ functioning level and needs using formal/informal tools.
• Collaborates with Interdisciplinary Team to develop each service user’s program.
• Develops/implements educational training programs.
• Conducts and monitors training and behavioral programs.
• Designs curriculum and classroom activities.
• Documents progress notes relative to objectives and revises plans as needed.
• Plans educational outings and prepares special activities for clients.
• Provides staff in-services to generalize training across settings.
• Ensures educational materials are available to meet needs.
• Coordinates with other departments to address total needs.
