Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a Home Coordinator to oversee daily operations of supported living homes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will supervise a team of Direct Support Professionals and ensure high-quality support aligned with regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes leadership, compliance, and collaboration with the Residential Service Coordinator to help clients excel and lead full, productive lives in a supportive community

Qualifications

• Requires at least 2 years of experience with adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise and train staff with good judgement.
• Excellent communication in a courteous and professional manner.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA.
• Ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the home following VOA policies and procedures.
• Supervise and assist consumers to live wholesome, productive lives.
• Train Direct Support Staff per mandated curriculum and regulations.
• Attend medical appointments with consumers and communicate with the nurse.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
• Complete documentation to ensure compliance with PCISP goals and state regulations.
• Train staff on Individualized Support Plans and annual training.
• Coordinate leisure, recreational, and social activities.
• Assist consumers in maintaining relationships with family and friends.
• Be available on an on-call basis and supervise assigned staff.
• Develop staff schedules within budget and ensure proper staff ratios.
• Review hours and approve timesheets for staff.
• Reconcile time off and actual hours; participate in overtime evaluations.
• Monitor staff performance and address underperformance.
• Initiate purchase requests to meet consumer needs.
• Oversee groceries/supply shopping within budgets; ensure vehicle maintenance.
• Communicate health concerns with the Registered Nurse.
• Document medical appointments in the Practical Health System.
