Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC in New Bern, NC is hiring an IDD Facility Charge Nurse (RN or LPN) for on-site, full-time work on three 12-hour shifts weekly (6:30am–7:00pm). You will oversee holistic nursing care, monitor health needs, and provide training to unlicensed staff to promote independence and well-being.

Competitive compensation at $32 per hour, with a $6,000 sign-on bonus for PRN status and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited License Practical Nursing (LPN).
• Active, unrestricted nursing license.
• Strong communication skills with interdisciplinary team members, individuals served, and their families.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and effectively prioritize tasks.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with IDD.
• Observe, assess, and evaluate health needs of individuals we support.
• Deliver health-related training to unlicensed personnel.
• Educate individuals on how to monitor their own health and, when appropriate, provide medication administration training.
• Administer medications and treatments, or assist individuals with self-administration.
• Ensure preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled and maintained.
• Conduct medication closet assessments.
• Perform quality assurance checks to ensure unlicensed personnel are completing tasks accurately.
• Collect and document health-related data.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Monitor for and report abnormal findings to physicians in a timely manner.
• Collaborate and communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the IDT.
• Advocate for individuals and assist in developing community supports to promote optimal health and independence.
