Big Wave Group in Half Moon Bay seeks an Enrichment Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and facilitate diverse enrichment activities for adults with IDD at the Big Wave Center. The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of relevant experience, strong organizational skills, and comfort coordinating volunteers, budgets, and transportation for on-site and off-site

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a community-based, residential, recreational, or vocational setting with leadership or program coordination responsibilities.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to design, implement, and manage activity schedules while coordinating logistics, resources, and volunteers.
• Experience leading small groups, providing individual support, and adapting activities to varying abilities and needs.
• Experience recruiting, training, and collaborating with volunteers and community partners.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Human Services, Recreation, Special Education, Psychology, or related field preferred.
• Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• CPR/First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Subject to a background check.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan, schedule, coordinate, and facilitate a broad range of social, recreational, and vocational enrichment activities for residents.
• Develop and maintain a monthly Enrichment Activities calendar for distribution to residents, families, caregivers, and staff.
• Coordinate with the Executive Director to avoid scheduling conflicts with other events and programs at the Big Wave Center.
• Regularly communicate with residents, families, and caregivers to understand interests, preferences, and needs.
• Identify enrichment opportunities that align with resident interests and support needs.
• Source and secure equipment, materials, and volunteer support for activities.
• Onboard, train, and support volunteers assisting with enrichment programming.
• Identify opportunities for community participation, including Coastside and disabilities communities.
• Coordinate transportation logistics for outings and off-site activities.
• Ensure activities stay within budget and safe, documented per policies.
• Submit expenses for approval and maintain records; submit incident reports when required.
• Maintain weekly records of activities, participants, and costs.
• Collaborate with staff, caregivers, families, vendors, and partners to ensure cohesive activities.
• Perform other duties to support the Big Wave Center community.
