To directly assist the nursing staff within the scope of practice approved by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Required to have completed an approved CAN II training program.
Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job include:
- Regularly required to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level, requiring work on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
Pay rate: $16.00
RHA Health Services is looking for personable, energetic, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to join our home caregiver team as a Unit Clerk.
This is a highly rewarding entry-level role. Unit Clerks are responsible for providing prescribed medical treatment and personal care and services to persons with disabilities in residential homes and/or vocational centers for a single location of business.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting all changes in the condition of the people we support to the Nurse immediately.
- Work hand-in-hand with nurses and administration to keep the people we support safe and healthy.
- Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an accurate and timely manner.
- Measure vital signs, notify nurse regarding any changes.
- Assist the people we support with dressing/undressing, hygiene, and toileting.
- Administer medications, including medications and feedings via a gastrostomy tube per physicians' orders and as delegated by licensed nurses.
- Monitor oxygen administration and report findings to licensed nurses.
- Check and monitor oxygen saturation levels as recommended by licensed nurses and/or physicians.
- Perform colostomy care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent people supported care information to ensure rights are protected.
- Ensure all nursing care is provided in privacy.
- Fax orders to pharmacy, complete labs to appropriate doctors, assist with ordering OTC stock and supplies, schedule appointments, and perform various office and filing duties.
- Participate as part of the RHA team by receiving nursing reports, assisting in transportation to/from appointments and activities, and supporting out-of-center appointments as necessary.
- Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting people supported into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with state laws preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
- Maintain proficiency in company-sponsored training and certifications.
- CPR and first aid certification are conditions of employment. Proficiency in CPR from floor level is required, involving work on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
