Job summary

Aero Gear, a global supplier of aerospace gears and gearbox assemblies, seeks an experienced machinist to set up and operate precision CNC ID-OD grind equipment in Windsor, CT. You will read travelers, adjust tooling, and inspect close-tolerance parts with air gage, micrometers and profilometers.

TPM duties, housekeeping and cross-training are part of daily responsibilities. Experience in aerospace CNC machining and a high school diploma are required; vocational training is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Read and interpret process travelers, setup journals and tooling sheets to produce complex finished parts.
  • Make tooling adjustments and program offsets as necessary.
  • Inspect completed work with instruments like air gage, micrometers and profilometers to tolerances.

  • Perform daily TPM responsibilities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations. Wear necessary personal protective equipment as required.
  • Actively participate in cross-training, cost savings and team activities to improve processes.
  • Maintain appropriate tact and diplomacy in dealings with co-workers, team members and supervisors.

Position Summary

This machinist will independently and safely set up and operate precision CNC ID-OD grind equipment.

Essential Functions

Experience and Education
  • Minimum of 3 years of aerospace CNC machining experience is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Degree/certificate from vocation school or college program is a plus, but extensive experience may substitute for education.
Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation

$40000 - $100000 / year

Compensation is paid hourly and may be adjusted based on level of experience, overtime and shift.
