MedVet Associates, Ltd is seeking a Nursing & ICU Veterinary Doctor Coordinator to join our emergency and specialty team in Washington. The role supports doctors, manages workflow, and ensures timely diagnostics and patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring prior veterinary experience, strong calculation skills, and excellent communication. The position offers competitive hourly pay with weekend and overnight shift differentials, comprehensive benefits, and a collaborative

Qualifications

• Prior veterinary experience required.
• Proficient in calculations (drugs, CRI, unit conversions).
• Flexibility with work hours; overtime when needed.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Directly supports specific doctor(s) for a shift and may support different doctors.
• Ensures follow-through of department workflow for the supported doctor(s).
• Collaborates on scheduling of consults, transfers, and diagnostics.
• Delegates team responsibilities (rounding cases, scheduling, etc.).
• Acts as contact for referral partner transfers/inquiries when doctors are unavailable.
• Provides departmental client communication about cases (care plan discussions, Q&A).
• Drafts medical record documentation for supported doctors (history, vitals, orders).
• Monitors emails and voicemails for doctor(s).
• Assists with outpatient procedures (bandage changes, radiographs, samples, meds).
• Escorts clients to exam rooms and maintains rooms.
• Mentors or trains team members; coordinates and delegates refills.
• May coordinate and delegate prescription refills to team members.
